Besov Regularity for the Poisson Equation in Smooth and Polyhedral Cones
This paper is concerned with the regularity of the solutions to Dirichlet and Neumann problems in smooth and polyhedral cones contained in R. Especially, we consider the speci c scale Bs τ (Lτ ), 1/τ = s/3 + 1/2, of Besov spaces. The regularity of the solution in these Besov spaces determines the order of approximation that can be achieved by adaptive and nonlinear numerical schemes. We show th...
متن کاملStudy of Existence, Uniqueness, Regularity and Asymptotic Behaviour of Solutions to The Poisson-Boltzmann Equation
Electrokinetic phenomena have an important connection to microfluidics because electrolytes can be used to manipulate small masses of fluids by means of suitably applied electric fields. Fluids at such small scales appear both in various natural systems and in microdevices intended for applications ranging from gene sequencing and gene expression to micropixels in electronic paper. Perhaps one ...
متن کاملHigher Sobolev regularity for the fractional p-Laplace equation in the superquadratic case
We prove that for p ≥ 2 solutions of equations modeled by the fractional p−Laplacian improve their regularity on the scale of fractional Sobolev spaces. Moreover, under certain precise conditions, they are in W 1,p loc and their gradients are in a fractional Sobolev space as well. The relevant estimates are stable as the fractional order of differentiation s reaches 1.
متن کاملOn the Poisson Equation for Singular Diffusions
Pardoux and Veretennikov [2001, Ann. Probab. 29, 1061-1085] establish existence (in the Sobolev sense) and uniqueness of solutions of a Poisson equation for the differential operator of an ergodic diffusion in <D, for which the covariance term is strictly non-degenerate and uniformly bounded. Our goal is to establish a similar solvability result, but for the complementary case of singular diffu...
متن کاملAn Improved ISM Equation of State for Polar Fluids
We developed an equation of state (EOS) by Ihm, Song, and Mason (ISM) for polar fluids. The model consists of four parameters, namely, the second virial coefficient, an effective van der Waals co-volume, a scaling factor, and the reduced dipole moment. The second virial coefficient is calculated from a correlation that uses the heat of vaporization, and the liquid density at the normal boiling ...
